As an alternative to reporting via the Data Bank Web site, you have the option to report through an external application called the Querying and Reporting XML Service (QRXS).
Whether you report to the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB), the Healthcare Integrity and Protection Data Bank (HIPDB), or both, reporting through an external application, such as QRXS, is an ideal choice if you store and manage practitioner data within your own information or credentialing systems. The QRXS makes it easy to integrate Data Bank information into your established information systems.
How to Get Started
After downloading the required tools, construct your XML file according to the QRXS File Format Specifications. Validate your file using a commercial or open source XML validator, and test it using the QRXS Test Environment.
Then, submit your file through the QRXS Java client software.
Reports submitted through the QRXS are checked immediately to ensure that they meet data requirements. If the data is not formatted correctly, a file documenting the errors is sent immediately to you.
Under most circumstances, you will receive a response file for downloading within 2 to 4 hours of successful report submission. If you do not receive a response within 2 business days, contact the Customer Service Center.
